What you hear about sales events is true. Manufacturers and dealers often have more financial incentives during these times of the year. The popular times of the year for sales events are frequently tied to model year changes and key calendar points in time.
Model year changes primarily take place in the late summer & fall. Dealers and manufacturers alike are very focused on selling prior year models, due to the residual value fluctuations. Often there are some very lucrative incentives offered by both the manufacturer and the dealer.
The most popular periods for sales events are 1) End of the calendar year, 2) Memorial Day, 3) 4th of July, 4) Labor Day, and 5) Thanksgiving, for the proverbial Black Friday shopping frenzy.
