Well, many times you may feel like you want to see a menu when you are finished buying a car, but this is a different kind of menu! Most automotive dealers today have what is known as a "menu" which is reviewed with you when you are in the process of finalizing the paperwork. The F&I (finance and insurance) Manager should use this when reviewing the options available to you. It can be overwhelming, depending on how frequently you purchase vehicles. And, it should be reviewed with you whether you are buying new or used. If you are buying a new vehicle, you will have many more choices presented to you. In fact, there will likely be many choices of providers of the individual products themselves. This is why it is critical that you have a good idea as to your driving needs, the intended use of the vehicle, and how long you will keep it.
Each of these 'menu items' are different types of insurance for your vehicle. Depending on the type of vehicle and your intended usage, you may or may not need to consider purchasing one or more of these. And, if you are financing the purchase of your vehicle, it is important to understand the impact to your monthly payments or how much cash you are putting down.
